History mission goals

History

From the beginning TZMO SA has been involved in ventures devoted to developing the quality of peoples’ live. We produce and sale products, which people use from birth to their last days, so we feel responsible not only for giving them the best products but also to help them to live worthily.

Because of many ventures for long-term care there was a need to establish a separate department concentrated on educational issues concerning conferences, workshops and courses for professional carers, therapists, rehabilitation specialists, nurses and managers of long-term care institutions. In 2000 Medical Information Centre was established, which now works under the name European Long-Term Care Centre (ELTCC).

Goals:

  • raising the level of knowledge and skills of
  • professionals working in long-term care or health protection
  • health promotion, education about disease prevention and possibilities of professional
  • treatmentintegration of disabled people with the society  based on principles of acceptance and
  • respect, and efforts to integrate them into full participation in society.

ELTCC carries out activities in several areas:

  • takes care for high standards of medical services and for comfort of work of medical staff

We organize trainings and courses improving competences of health services workers. The participants of those trainings gain knowledge concerning law, nursing, care and medical issues. We  cooperate with specialists, experts and people who have a vast experience and are known and respected by people engaged in long-term care.

  • engages in developing long-term care in Poland and in Europe

Since 1998 we have organized Torun Long-Term Care Days – the most important and the biggest educational event devoted to this field in Poland including International Long-Term Care Conference, Symposium focusing on various themes and workshops for medical staff. Every year 1 000 people come to Torun to discus long-term care issues on an international level.

More about MEDI

  • promotes integration of mental disabled people with the society

Since 2000 we have organized International Football League for Disabled People for those who live in care institutions, far apart from their relatives. There aren’t so many initiatives for this group of people, although they have the same right to live a good life as we all have. They have passions and dreams to follow and we’d like to motivate them to do it.
